Twins: Night Time Routine

Say hi to King & Queen!

It’s been very different since my husband has gone back to work, but we found that this night time routine works best for us. The twins turned two months on Monday! Guys, having twins is surreal! I thought it would be the worst having him gone back to work and me alone with Lani & the twins, but I was WRONG! They are sooo good to me!

So, it begins like this…

I usually start at around 4 o’ clock with getting prepared for that night and the next day. Yes, girl I have to start early or else it would be tomorrow until I get done with what I needed to do tomorrow. (I am a huge planner, rather it be just for that night or months away). Then, I usually make the most noise I can around this time so I can keep them up and alert so that they are sleepy for bedtime. Which, with five children it’s really not hard to do at all. They will have a bottle around 4:30 P.M. give or take, and I will start with dinner (homework with the older children starts as soon as they come home from school). Sometimes, big brother goes in and hold one so I can either check on dinner or tend to his crazy…I mean loving sister and brother.

By 5 o’ clock, I cannot wait until my husband is home…

Coy comes in and immediately asks me “what do I need help with?”. I use to tell him nothing when we had like three kids, but now oh no I have learned my lesson the hard way. Before he takes his uniform off he washes his hands and then helps with dinner, the kids, or whatever it may be. This has been a huge blessing for me! I usually tell him to get baths started with Buba (the 4 years old) so that we can eat dinner soon after that is done. Now, we try to aim for everyday but it sometimes leads to every other day, because uh hello nobody has time for all of that!

Dinner is done and all of that good stuff…

Usually daddy helps with brushing teeth and tucking into bed so that I can start clearing the table, putting dishes away, cleaning bottles, etc. I like for my kitchen to be clean before we head upstairs to take the twins to sleep. By this time it is 7:30 P.M. and the twins are usually still sleep, but if not it’s no biggie! Each of us usually takes one to our room and I would steam the bathroom by putting on the shower super hot. This helps keep the bathroom nice and cozy for my sweet babes! During this whole time, Leilani has probably been screaming and giving us a headache. We try to not swaddled them during the day so that there is a difference between daytime and bedtime.

Right now baby Dove bath kit is our jam right now for the twins! It smells so good! Click Here to view different baby dove products! After baths we give bottles again or boobs then smother with hugs and kisses before we place them in their “twin z pillows” until next feeding which is between 2:00 – 3:00 A.M. That’s it! That’s the twins night time routine so far! Can you imagine having another little one at your toes, while trying to put twins to sleep? Story of our lives right now!
