Twins: Pregnancy

This has to be the HARDEST thing I have ever went through in my life!

Hard is an understatement for how I felt with the twins pregnancy. When I say the hardest thing thus far that is exactly what I mean. From the beginning, I have never felt as sick until I hit 9 weeks pregnant, so that’s good right? There were no signs of pregnancy except my menstrual cycle was nowhere to be found. Personally, my menstrual cycle comes like clock work and it never changes so I usually know if it’s just a day late my ass is pregnant. I can remember this day like it was yesterday. Coy was gone out-of-town due to the army (as always), and it was just the kids and I. First, we went to the park and I ran for miles with the kids then went to the commissary for groceries. Something told me to just get a pregnancy test just to see what it says.

And girl…

Before I even put the groceries away I went straight to the bathroom to take the pregnancy test. Girlllll this pregnancy test was so freaking dark it was CRAZY! I could not believe it at all, I was so in shock. The creativity in me wanted to make a cute announcement to tell my husband for when he returned, but this was so shocking that I had to tell him ASAP. As expected, he was just as shocked as I was, but wanted to keep it together for me cause I was extremely lost. There were so many things ran throughout my mind the first few weeks.

“Can we possibly take care of four kids?”

“What would other people say about us?”

“Damn! You can’t stop getting pregnant sis”

“Are you sure about this?”

I joked it was twins before we even knew!

It’s true! I remember getting ready for bed and jokingly telling my husband “What if it’s twins? That line is too dark babe!” Of course we just laughed it off, but really the joke was on us. What is so crazy is that we seem to get pregnant every other year around the same damn time. Like, we really have 4 of our 5 children’s birthday in the month of July. Our first doctor’s appointment went very well.. until I pointed out that I thought there were two freaking sacs in there. And what do you know? TWO FREAKING SACS IN MY UTERUS. Looked at my husband with disgust and said “Thanks to your super sperm!”

I knew the exact time/date that they were conceived *wink wink*. I swear the army sets you up.. they are always gone so then when they come back you have no choice but to jump their bones. Anyhow, in this same appointment we found out we were having twins, he had to leave again for a week(thanks, army).

I remember feeling as if I wasn’t sure I could do it and questioning my ability to parent them with already having three other children. Those thoughts vanish quickly with their first ultrasound and I was able to see both of my twin beans heartbeats at 6 weeks. I only told a few people, doctor requested that we only told anyone after 12 weeks or so just incase anything happened. It was so scared, I didn’t want anything to happen to them.

I was an absolute mess, we always wanted four children but what do you do when God gives you more than you asked for?

I will forever live by this. There are so many times where I prayed God to bless me with just this one little thing, and he blesses me with so much more! Can you think of a time were God gave  you more than you asked for? You can not put a limit on how many blessings God can give you. Just when I thought the worse was to come from having five children, now I am more motivated than ever! I wake up at 3 A.M. feeling so blessed to be their mama even on my sleepiest day. This pregnancy was really hard on me I didn’t cook a single meal for almost the entire nine months. They baked inside for 38 weeks and when I seen them my heart exploded, just as it did with their brothers and sister.

God had allowed so many awesome ladies in my life, and not to mention my husband. When you find your tribe you love them, and love them hard! So, shout out to my main biotchesss!

Rather you have one child or three I am here to tell you that God is always on time! God never said it was going to be easy, he said it was all going to be worth it.
